Frankie Dettori is signing off from UK racing, and he hopes to sign-off in style with FIVE rides booked for British Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday.
His best chance of glory arrives in the Sprint Stakes (1.50pm) on board 15/8 favourite and last year's winner Kinross. The form is rock-solid with two wins at Goodwood and York already in the bag in 2023.
Free Wind is generally available at 7/2 and considered Frankie's 'next best' opportunity in the Fillies & Mares Stakes (2.25) according to the betting markets. Heavy ground was an issue when beaten in the Lillie Langtry at Goodwood, but her stable has trained three of the last seven winners of this race.
Trawlerman is a 16/1 shot to get Dettori's day off to a flyer. Kyprios and Trueshan head the market in the Long Distance Cup (1.15pm) but has won both his starts this year.
Dettori claimed a landmark victory aboard Inspiral (12/1) in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket a fortnight ago, but the pair have a tough assignment to beat the likes of Paddington and Tahiyra in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (3.05pm).
Will we see Frankie's trademark flying dismount in his final race on British soil in the Champion Stakes (3.45pm)? He's booked to ride Roger Varian's King Of Steel, who is second-favourite at 10/3.
