The song also surged from No. 17 to No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated November 25.

A track from Carey’s 1994 album Merry Christmas, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is an up-tempo love song that includes bell chimes, backing vocals and synthesizers. The song has become a Christmas standard and continues to surge in popularity each holiday season.

The “Songbird Supreme” performed the Christmas carol at the recent Billboard Music Awards show.

Brenda Lee‘s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (No. 2); Bobby Helms‘ “Jingle Bell Rock” (No. 3); Wham!‘s “Last Christmas” (No. 4) and Burl Ives‘ “A Holly Jolly Christmas” (No. 5) round out the top 5 on Billboard‘s Holiday 100 chart.

The Holiday 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data.
