THE UK has hosted some unforgettable sporting events this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From football to Formula One, millions of fans have bought tickets to see their favourite team or athlete in action.<\/p>\n

But one event in particular was by far the most popular.<\/p>\n

Here, SunSport look at the most in-demand sporting events of 2023, according to viagogo.<\/p>\n

10 – \u00a0Atlanta Falcons vs Jacksonville Jaguars – NFL London Games 2023<\/h2>\n

NFL returned to London in October as thousands of American football fans flocked to Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Jaguars beat the Falcons 23-7 in front of a crowd of 85,176 spectators.<\/p>\n

Another two games were also played in London – both at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n

9 – England vs France – Guinness Six Nations 2023<\/h2>\n

England fell to a horrid 53-10 loss to France at Twickenham in the fourth round of the Guinness Six Nations in March.<\/p>\n

It was their biggest-ever home defeat and sparked outrage from fans.<\/p>\n

Around 81,000 spectators were in attendance, but not everyone stayed until the final whistle.<\/p>\n

Those who did let their discontent known when a wave of boos rang around the stadium.<\/p>\n

8 – The Open Championship<\/h2>\n

A record attendance of 260,000 fans was projected ahead of the 151st Open Championship in\u00a0Wirral.<\/p>\n

The Royal Liverpool Golf Club slightly increased in size in preparation for the July event as fans rapidly sought to buy tickets.<\/p>\n

Brian Harman went on to win the competition.<\/p>\n

7 – Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans – NFL London Games 2023<\/h2>\n

Just over 61,000 fans were in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Ravens beat the Titans 24-16.<\/p>\n

It was the final match of the highly-anticipated 2023 NFL London games.<\/p>\n

6 – KSI vs Tommy Fury<\/h2>\n

YouTubers and social media stars were at the forefront of the boxing scene at the beginning of October.<\/p>\n

KSI faced former Love Islander Tommy Fury on the Prime Card at Manchester Arena in a highly-anticipated bout.<\/p>\n

Fury, brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, controversially won the fight by majority decision.<\/p>\n

It was scored 57\u201356, 57\u201356, 57\u201357 in favour of Fury, but KSI branded it a "robbery".<\/p>\n

YouTuber Logan Paul also faced MMA star Dillon Danis on the night.<\/p>\n

He won after Danis was disqualified following an attempted guillotine choke.<\/p>\n

It all took place in front of a 20,000-capacity crowd in Manchester.<\/p>\n

5 – Wales vs England – Guinness Six Nations 2023<\/h2>\n

England clinched a 20-10 victory over Wales at the Principality Stadium in February – their first Six Nations win in Cardiff since 2017.<\/p>\n

Just over 74,000 fans were in attendance to watch as Steve Borthwick's side earned their second win of the competition.<\/p>\n

4 – ICC World Test Championship – Australia v India<\/h2>\n

Australia beat India by 209 runs at The Oval in June.<\/p>\n

The Aussies dominated towards the end of the five-day event and cruised to the win.<\/p>\n

It was a huge event watched by thousands at The Oval.<\/p>\n

3 – Jacksonville Jaguars vs Buffalo Bills – NFL London Games 2023<\/h2>\n

The Jaguars secured back-to-back London wins with a 25-20 victory over the Bills.<\/p>\n

Around 61,200 fans were in attendance – just below the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium's 62,000 capacity.<\/p>\n

Following this year's popular London Series, NFL is set to return to the capital in 2024.<\/p>\n

2 – Formula 1 British Grand Prix<\/h2>\n

The British Grand Prix drew a huge crowd this year.<\/p>\n

A whopping 480,000 spectators stormed through the gates of Silverstone over the course of the weekend.<\/p>\n

They were treated to an epic race and performances from the likes of Jax Jones, Black Eyed Peas and Tom Grennan.<\/p>\n

Hometown heroes Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris earned a spot on the podium, while Max Verstappen stormed to victory.<\/p>\n

1 – Wimbledon<\/h2>\n

It's notoriously difficult to get tickets for tennis' most prestigious Grand Slam and this year was no different.<\/p>\n

A new record attendance of 532,651 was set this year across the two-week tournament which saw Marketa Vondrousova clinch the women's title and Carlos Alcaraz claim the men's.<\/p>\n
