{"id":225395,"date":"2023-12-19T09:49:19","date_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/allworldreport.com\/?p=225395"},"modified":"2023-12-19T09:49:19","modified_gmt":"2023-12-19T09:49:19","slug":"thrill-seekers-slammed-for-risking-their-lives-by-getting-too-close-to-volcano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allworldreport.com\/world-news\/thrill-seekers-slammed-for-risking-their-lives-by-getting-too-close-to-volcano\/","title":{"rendered":"Thrill-seekers slammed for risking their lives by getting too close to volcano"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Iceland: Volcanic eruption lights up the sky around Njardvik<\/h3>\n<p>Thrill-seekers who are venturing near the Icelandic volcano that started erupting on Monday night (December 18) have been slammed by officials.<\/p>\n<p>Dumbfounding snaps show people getting close to the Fagradalsfjall volcano which, at 10.17pm on December 18, started spewing lava 150m into the sky.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs taken last night show scores of cars queuing to get closer to the area of the eruption &#8211; the Sundhnj\u00faka crater, near Hagafell on the country&#8217;s Reykjanes Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>Other snaps picture people lined up to watch the spectacle as lava can be seen raging just a few kilometres ahead.<\/p>\n<p>As common sense didn&#8217;t prevail among some thrill-seekers, Iceland&#8217;s Ministry of the Environment was forced to issue repeated warnings to try and change the minds of those thinking about getting close to the volcano and making the work of scientists and emergency services more complicated.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> READ MORE: <\/strong> <strong>Lava fired 150m into the air after thousands of earthquakes struck Iceland<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/78\/590x\/secondary\/iceland-volcano-eruption-5122331.jpg?r=1702978138536\"><\/p>\n<p>One spokesman at the ministry said: &#8220;Think about someone other than yourself and follow the guidelines of the public safety. Please.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Icelandic Police also warned: &#8220;An eruption has begun.
