Israel’s security service has established a new unit with the sole goal of hunting down and eliminating the terrorists who played a role in Hamas massacre on October 7.

The new unit set up by Shin Bet, named Nili – an acronym in Hebrew for “The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie” – will seek to find the Hamas members who tortured, murdered and kidnapped hundreds of people in kibbutzim located in southern Israel.

More than 1,400 people were killed in that unprecedented terror assault, and around 212 were kidnapped and brought into the Gaza Strip.

Israel responded to the attack by launching retaliatory air strikes and razing entire areas in Gaza in a bid to take out terrorist cells.

More than 4,500 Palestinians have been killed and around 14,000 were left wounded as a result of these missile strikes.

More than a fortnight into the war, Israel is believed to be preparing for a ground operation inside the Gaza Strip, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran-backed and Lebanon-based Hezbollah militants on the northern border not to try and open a new war front, saying it would be the “biggest mistake of their lives”.

Biden and Netanyahu agree on ‘continued flow of assistance’ into Gaza

After a second convoy carrying humanitarian aid was allowed into Gaza on Sunday, US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to allow a “continued flow of … critical assistance into Gaza”, the White House said.

The humanitarian aid currently being delivered to the war-torn strip includes medicine, food and water.

Fuel hasn’t yet been delivered, despite humanitarian organisations warning hospitals are in dire need to keep life-saving machines turned on. Homes also need fuel to operate water pumps.
