Reward increases for information on American Elm restaurant double murder

The reward for information about an April double murder at a restaurant in northwest Denver has increased to $32,600.

A fundraiser was held in August in memory of Emerall Vaughn-Dahler and Ignacio “Nacho” Gutierrez Morales, who were both shot and killed at American Elm, the West Highland restaurant where they both worked, on April 24.

Vaughn-Dahler, 34, joined American Elm in June 2021 as a server and later became general manager.

Gutierrez Morales, 58, had worked for the restaurant as a prep cook since it opened in 2019.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers announced the reward increase Wednesday on Facebook.

“Someone saw something, no matter how seemingly small,” the post states.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can be anonymous and are eligible for up to the $32,600 reward.
